Sunday Short List: Slow Weekends, Living in Loungewear & My Obsession with Vintage Lighting
A quick weekend edit
Welcome back to Jamie’s List: a curated shopping newsletter by Jamie Grimstad Huth, delivered to your inbox every Sunday. An extension of Curated by Jamie, this list is a weekly round-up of what I’m wearing, eyeing and loving right now.
Hello, November! It’s been a couple of work-heavy weeks for me in New York and while I loooove to complain about being at the computer all day, I’m so grateful for all that’s going on. In all honesty, I have loved taking it easy, too. But, where has the time gone? I started working on my gift guides last week (last year’s here) and it’s got me very excited for the holidays. We have entered what is, in my opinion, the best time of year.
Here’s a quick edit from the past week: chic things I saw, ate & saved that are worthy of note.
Sometimes it’s okay to live in sweatpants? I certainly have — all week. So, let’s talk about my loungewear heroes. Most worn, without fail, are my Skims. I practically live, breathe and travel in these exclusively. Also in heavy rotation are these, along with my Leset Margo set. Because we can never have too many pairs, I also have my eye these—and this set (JAMIE15). Both necessary additions at this point to look chic, but still comfortable.
A really good throw. For cozy nights at home.
I’m hosting an event with Violet Grey this month and to say that I’m excited is an understatement. Upgrade your subscription to receive an invite, and to get on the list for future Curated by Jamie events.
I received a delivery from Destree this week, and I’ve been carrying it non-stop. Love her. Speaking of Destree, they’ve re-cut my favorite blazer in a few new color-ways for winter. Chic.
This candle is my current obsession. Burning all day long.
Speaking of…Cassandra Grey has done it again, in partnership with my dear friend Marigay. The Madame Grey Collection Nº 2 has arrived, just in time for the holidays. Complete with beautiful pewter lids, these candles are chic-as-can-be.
As we enter sparkly season, I can’t get this ring out of my head. I love Arielle Ratner’s pieces, and hope to create something with her one day.
Also on my mind, great denim. I finally found a pair of jeans to replace my Khaite Danielle’s—which I know is saying a lot. But, trust me. If Ossou is not on your radar yet, it needs to be.
Similarly, my obsession with this frosted cubosfera lamp from Rose Uniacke (attributed to Alessandro Mendini) knows no bounds. I saw a similar light at Coco’s uptown this week, placed perfectly on their bar—and have since, been on the hunt to find something similar. To my surprise, I’ve had tremendous success. A couple of renditions of this light worth your while include, this one (Peill & Putzler, 1970s) this one (Müller & Zimmer Stuttgart, 1970s) this one (Fidenza Vetraria) and this one (Ikea, 1990s). I will be snatching one of these up, unless you do first, of course.
I’ve been trying to work on my skin texture and while less is most definitely still more for me these days when it comes to products, my skin would not be what it is without a little help from Dr. Marnie Nussbaum and my ZIIP for in-between appointments. This device is the best for sculpting that I’ve tried and is, quite frankly, a necessity ahead of holiday events.
A little tease of Totême pre-spring.
Lastly, if you’re daring enough to break out of sweatpants this week. Try this color combination?
